Accounting Specialist

We are looking for a talented and experienced full-time Accounting Specialist responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue, collection of outstanding payments, and reconciliation of customer accounts.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reconcile customer accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and customer service, to address customer inquiries, disputes, and billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare, monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports, identifying delinquent accounts and initiating collection efforts as necessary.
  • Support the month end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounts receivable-related tasks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls related to accounts receivable.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, changes in accounting regulations, and technology advancements, recommending and implementing process improvements as appropriate.
  • Other accounting duties as assigned.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in a fast-paced commission environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures related to accounts receivable.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
 
Job Type: Full-time
 
Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year DOE

Project Manager – Transportation & Specialty Outdoor Lighting


We are looking for a talented and experienced full-time Transportation & Specialty Outdoor Project Manager responsible for organizing and managing transportation & specialty outdoor lighting projects from quotation department hand-off to completion.  This includes:

  • Review and confirmation of the bill of material 
  • Entering the order
  • Interfacing with the factory(s) for shipping and delivery, and:
  • Handling all distributor/contractor issues encountered through the completion of the project.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively provide project management for active transportation & specialty lighting projects, including prioritizing tasks and coordination issues.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with factories, contractors and the distributor community as evidenced by positive feedback from customers.
  • Develop and nurture teamwork with peers to create a positive, energized work environment.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years lighting experience.
  • Direct customer contact with lighting manufacturers, distributors and contractor communities.
  • Use of lighting manufacturers and/or lighting industry order entry software for orders, quotes and/or issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of lighting manufacturer’s product literature to respond to customer inquiries.
  • Practical appreciation of the complex nature of lighting manufacturers, lighting agency and electrical distributor relationships.
  • Applied experience with computer software, i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Proven ability to use logical, analytical thinking in problem solving.
  • Established credibility in the lighting industry based on organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through and customer interactions.
  • Finely developed written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year DOE
